These rules are your first and last warnings. If you disobey them, heed will not be taken in punishment, so I suggest that you read them. And, for the record, mild cursing is allowed on this site.



General;;


001. Please respect the site staff members. They are here for a reason and whatever they say goes. The staff on HF are professional and have experience administrating sites. If you have an issue with one of the staff members please PM them first and try to resolve it with them, and if for some reason that doesn't go well feel free to PM me, the admin, and I'll listen to both sides of the story and make a decision. Please try and leave the drama off the board, it's supposed to be a fun place.

002. Image and Font Sizing are important on this site. Therefore, I am setting a limit. All avatars (be it signatures in posts, post headings or otherwise) must be 100x100. Please refrain from making your posts ghastly and unreadable colors. Make sure it is a color that can be seen on all skins, when we have additional skins. Banners in your signature may not exceed 520 width, and please do not make them more than 400 in height.

003. Spamming will not be tolerated period. Any spam post, will result in the user having a 1% warning increase, and their post deleted. Spam stands for Stupid Pointless Annoying Messages.

004. You must fill out an application and be accepted before you start posting in-character. Also, you can not sign up for face claim or other spots on the forum until you have been accepted, no exceptions.

005. All posts are to be at least 2 paragraphs long. 2 paragraphs consist of 8-10 sentences in each paragraph. Any less and you will be asked to edit your post through a PM. If your post isn't edited then the thread will be locked.

006. harryisahero, it is best that you keep reading because you will find another password for the sorting to go along with this one.

007. We do not reserve character representatives or canons. First come first serve. In regards to canons, the best application gets the part, not necessarily the first application.

008. Keep OOC comments in the OOC category please. Adding OOC comments to RP threads isn't allowed, it just kills the thread and isn't necessary.

009. God-modding and Cybering are not allowed on this board. There are exceptions to this rule, but they are only as follows. If you are going to god-mod you must have the person of whom your are playing with's permission over their character. The second chance for that is if the other character belongs to you. You may have threads with scenes in them, or however you want to call it, but you can not write out the details. Just use fade scenes, and pretty much everyone will know what your character's are up to. If you think the thread is rated more than PG-13 then add a rating.

010. Grammar and Spelling is important. The Spell Check is there for a reason, and please read over to make sure you're using the right contractions, possessive pronouns, and adverbs. Staff members may ask you to change these if they find enough reasoning. Do as they say.

011. I hate to even have to put this as a rule, because it should be common sense. Theft, racism of any kind, bashing, and threats are not permitted on this site, unless it is in Character form- and even then there are guidelines to follow. Anyone who shows any of these aspects, will be banned. I don't care if it's a private joke between two old friends, do not do it on this site. I will not tolerate a space where other writers cannot feel comfortable simply being here. Consider this your only warning.

012. Advertising is allowed on this site. Your thread will be checked and we will respond on your site and then lock the thread. Bumping isn't allowed. If you wish to affiliate, please make sure to read the Affiliate Rules. DO NOT ADVERTISE THROUGH PM'S! If you receive a PM from someone that is advertising please contact the staff immediately. Advertising through PMs will result in banning.

013. Do Not bug people about replying to a thread. I don't care if they mind or not, it makes certain people uncomfortable. Members, including Staff, have lives outside of the Rp World. Please, take that into consideration. Also, please don't harass people through PMs. This is also annoying.

014. If at any time you'd like to have your character killed, Celebrity change, Name Change, if you're Dropping the character, etc; this may be arranged. Please, contact a Staff Member and they will assist you. There will be no hard feelings, so please, do not be afraid to let us know.

015. Please make sure to change your display name to your character name once you join. Please use the following format: Hermione Weasley (put your character's name in place of Hermione's, but that is how it should look).



Joining and Role Playing;;



001. I shouldn't have to say this, but no chat speak when posting in character. If I c ne thng lyk th!s, I will have to give you a 3% warning.

002. All posts must be in third person past tense, unless your character is speaking about themselves. All thoughts should be in italic, but the way you represent your quotations is completely up to you. Also, haryisahero has nothing to do with the password. Please, read on...

003. Do Not Multi-Color your posts. Again, you may represent your quotations in anyway you desire, but do not have more than two colors. The other color, being the default or black. No exceptions. Please, do not use white (or like) font. It will be difficult to see with the default skin.

004. Racism, sexism, and religion based issues are serious deals, and although I do not support any of these the truth is they are topics of real life. You may have your characters be these things, but lets keep them to respectable standards. No skin color or religion bashing, and if you're going to use certain words that are normally used to discriminate toward women or men, please use them openly for both sexes.

005. Staying active is going to be a large part of this board. No one is forcing you to post everyday, but I do require that you log on and post often. If we see that you haven't logged on in three days your account will be deleted. The only exception is if you have notified the staff of your absence or have extunating circumstances preventing you from getting online. I know we all have busy lives, and I am one of those who has a busy life. I am still able to get on once a day even if its to check the site. Canons are expected to be as active as possible.

006. Which brings me to Character Limits. We will be starting off with a maximum of three characters per person and each character must have their own account. Of course, everyone will be starting off with One character. When you reach the posting limit of ten posts (or if approved by an admin), you may have another. If later on you wish to have a third, PM a staff member and we will monitor your posting and skills, and see if it is best for the board. This rule does Not apply to Staff.

007. If you choose to put your character's middle name in your mini-profile, that is completely up to you. Just make sure your character doesn't have eight middle names. The real password to applications is whompingwillow.

008. Do Not Change any of the Code Format. This is considered a serious rule on this board. Whether it is at the top, middle or bottom of the post, there is a code to use as guideline. Copy it, Paste it, Use it.

009. No Mary-Sue's, Gary-Stu's, or Captain Bateman's. No one is perfect, no one is immortal. Everyone has flaws, weaknesses and deformities whether it be physical, emotional or otherwise. Of course, do not put your character through something that will have them in a nuthut. Bland is good sometimes, but spice it up a little.

010. Celebrity Portrayal only. Alexandre "Alexheartbreaker" Evans, is not a celebrity. Celebrities include Professional Models (including scene models), Actors/Actresses, and Musicians. Portrayals such as MySpace, Facebook, your Hot Neighbor and Yourself are not allowed.

011. You may not be someone's boyfriend/girlfriend, wife/husband, sister/brother, mother/father or ex without their permission. (unless it is part of the canon list) Also, we would like it if all characters could start out single. This isn't a rule, only a suggestion. Most people let their characters jump right into dating, and don't have enough time to develop their own character. They base everything off the other, and it's a bad road to take for the future. It gets old fast, and then you have to start all over again with baggage. Lets keep it simple, people. Time to get back to basics.

011. No reserving or "To Be Continued" Open threads. If you have something to post, then post it. Do not take up a reply and make people wait for you to finish before they can post. These will be deleted and you will get 1% warning added. The only exceptions to this rule, is if you are in the middle of typing or the thread is closed to you and whoever started the thread. You may put "This Space Is Reserved, Because I'm Typing" or something along the lines of that, but you have a limited time to do so. If there are any complaints, your post will be removed and you will get your warning.

012. In the past Pregnancy has seem to become an issue. If you wish your character to be pregnant, please contact a Staff member. Understand that we have the right to deny your request for any reason at all. However, if we do decide it is alright for your character to be with child, we're going to be the ones to pick the sex. You do not get to choose in real life, this just makes it more realistic. Also, you can not have a pregnant character one week, and a two year old the next. Nine months RP time will be three weeks time in real life (and you must be active for these three weeks).




Consequences;;

If you break the rules you will be given three warnings before a permanent ban and deletion of your account. The three warning levels are:

The first warning is called CRUCIO. You will be sent a PM and the PM will state which warning you a receiving. Basically Crucio is your first warning. It's equivalent to a slap on the hand and it will probably remind you of the rules and ask you politely to follow them or correct your behavior.

The second warning is IMPERIO. Again, you will be sent a PM but this time it will be more harsh. It will basically say that unless you follow the rules your account will be deleted and banned from the forum. It is highly suggested that you refrain from breaking the rules after this warning, especially if you don't want to risk getting banned.

For the third and final warning, you will receive NO PM. This warning is called AVADA KEDAVRA. Basically if we see that you have yet again broken the rules your account will be deleted and we will ban you using your IP address and your email permanently. So basically, you only have two warnings before we delete your account. Who wants to argue with a member about following rules when we should be having fun? The answer is no one.
